    Reboot Ricoh copier using Telnet?

    Howdy,

Just as the title implies... has anyone found the magic command (IF there is one), to reboot Ricoh machines via Telnet?

There are a ton of web hits for this one, but no answers.

I'm tempted to do a Wireshark capture, open the WIM, and see what gets sent when issuing the reboot command, but that may or may not be the same thing. (HTTP vs Telnet).

    Thanks!

If you'd asked about Kyocera, I would have said yes, definitely. There's a PreSribe command for that. I'm assuming you'd like to remote in, then reboot the device without onsite assistance. =^..^=
If you'd like a serious answer to your request:
    1) demonstrate that you've read the manual
    2) demonstrate that you made some attempt to fix it.
    3) if you're going to ask about jams include the jam code.
    4) if you're going to ask about an error code include the error code.
    5) You are the person onsite. Only you can make observations.

      Yep, exactly.

We're installing software on quite a few machines, and most are in sleep mode at the time we go to connect. They won't install in that condition.

Most of these sleeping beauties are at least 1,000 miles away.

The customer won't allow us to install any software on the workstations, so I'm trying to find something native to Winders.

If it can be done with Telnet (or even LPR), I can write a simple batch file with a variable in it, something like " reboot 192.168.100.100".

I'm not familiar with the Ricoh web interface. Do you have the option to do a print card restart, like you can on Kyocera products? Or, does the machine wake up when you enter the web interface? Can you print a report from the web interface that will wake it up? =^..^=
