MP C3500/LD435c Firmware

Please someone send me the newest firmware for the MP C3500/LD435c. I can't get the copier company to do it and we Have C2500 that work with Server 2012 Scan to Folder working ok. I just want to update it myself!

As this is a technical forum, I don't believe anyone is willing to provide the firmware to a non tech, cause there is a chance you'll brick your device and that fw update is a tech job.

Set up scan to FTP. It still goes to a folder.easier than trying to update firmware on a machine you are not trained to work on.

Bricks can be rebuilt........They said the same about my phone. Got it back! Said the same about my PC, bought a new BIOS (LOL). Same about my router, there is always ssh and putty!

You screw-up a firmware update and you are looking at replacing the controller board.

As slimslob says, firmware is not something you will get on this forum. It is NOT something that is passed around to non techs and techs alike. Nobody is doubting your technical skills as they are probably a lot better then mine. (IT wise anyways). No offense, it's just that we (as factory trained techs) protect that kind of information from the general public. If you need firmware you will have to call a copier company and pay them for it. It should be relatively inexpensive (hour labor). You are correct in that a firmware upgrade is needed for WIN8/SRVR 2k12. What you probably also need is ALL the firmware upgraded. (About 17 files, depending on the applications installed) Or you could set up scan to e-mail or FTP.

Thanks everyone. It was a shot in the dark but I had to try! Copier company has been called and I explained to the techs boss what needed to be done. However, I do like your forum here and, if I ever need help with the ftp to folder, I may just call on you guys.

Thanks for being so civil: we get a lot of people coming on the boards asking and not giving anything in return. For FTP issues, as well as details on scan to SMB, check out the Connectivity section. With IT skills more than just copier skills you could likely contribute to the overall knowledge of the group there. I'm in the fortunate position of starting in the copier field and making the move over to full fledged IT support.

We're a pretty close bunch and even though copiers are just embedded Unix boxes for the most part, there is an art to things such as firmware that can cause more damage, and expense, if done by the wrong person.

That does look pretty much up to date, and there is no firmware update for anything higher than Windows 7/Server 2008 R2 for this model: at least in terms of production firmware. Someone else may be able to confirm whether there is any custom firmware available that your tech may need to use (Ricoh loves hiding those sometimes). However, the C2500 is a sister machine to the C3500 and its firmware updates only bring it up to SMB 2 as well.

You don't have any kind of network settings like only allowing NTLMv2 or anything special do you? Same credentials used on both the C2500 and the C3500 to access the scan destination? At this point it sounds like your issue is more configuration related than software related.

Same age:
C2500 is the 25ppm version. C3500 is 35ppm version.
Firmware, and most internal components are NOT the same

The MP series machines use the naming convention of the first two numbers being the page per minute, and the last digit being the generation, so the MP C3500 is a 35 page per minute colour machine, and the first of its series: the MP C3501 was the successor model. Four digit models are DLT/A3 capable; three digit models only go up to US legal size paper.
