It pains me to do this, but your "TECH" has left me no other option....

Is the tech with a Ricoh branch or authorized Ricoh dealer? He/she obviously does not know about Special/Custom firmware. What you need for Windows 8 and Server 2012 is B222_NetworkSupport_v520_LRC0451. What your machine has installed is the latest production release firmware. Last production release was dated August 2010. Windows 8 support was not released until 2013. He/she should be able to download Special/Custom firmware from either TSRC or rfg-esource. If he/she does not have access to those two websites here in the US, he/she is not an authorized Ricoh technician as these are the two primary service support sites in the US. You might also tell them that you need the printer firmware updated to B222_CustomPrinterLRP02574_v1.70.2c5 to prevent SC 899 when printing from the internet.

Network Support needs to be from a "special/custom firmware " section. Level 5.20 will only cover win7/server2008. The special/custom will be it to level LRO451. rfg055941 is the file name.

Well, if that's the Ace Business Solutions located in Cleavland (Independence), OH, it looks like they should probably be OK. According to what I found on Google at least.
You might want to call them again and see what's up, there could still be a mutually acceptable solution to this.
Then again, all I know about Ace is what I found on Google, so your mileage may vary.

If you contact them again be sure to tell them that you need the Custom firmware that I mentioned in my previous post. If they do not know what you are taking, as them if they are a Ricoh authorized dealer. If they say that they are then inform them that they should be able to get CUstom firmware from either TSRC or rfg-esource.

I would like to warn you about downloading condensed firmware files from anyone but the manufacturer. Many download and file share sites attach potentially unwanted data on to the download. Use at your own risk. Even places such as cnet.com and downloads.com are no longer safe.
