[Error Code] Please Wait!! - Fiery Driven Button

    Hi,
I have a RicohPro C550ex with a E-8100 Fiery. This week when I push the Fiery button on the machine all I get is a blue screen that says "Please Wait" flashing. I can run copies through my CWS software on my mac.
I can also run the fiery remote scan. It is hooked up wirelessly to the network and all comps can see it and print to it.

Anyone know why this screen is all of the sudden popping up and not letting me see the Fiery Screen options????

I can get to my WEB configuration screen on the MAC as well

    Any help is appreciated!~

    Thanks,
    Jerry

Have you rebooted both the C550 and the Fiery?

Re: Please Wait!! - Fiery Driven Button

with the screen you describe nothing from the Fiery should work on the machine as the Fiery system has not loaded on the machine. It sounds like your Fiery is up and running on the wire, but probably not on the machine. So as anothertech said I would reboot both the machine and the Fiery. The E-81 should support the FACI interface and I would configure it as such and access CWS from there and see if it really connects to the machine via the Fiery interface. For more info on the FACI go to EFI.com ........

I have shut down the fiery and the copier. Restarted the fiery and then the copier. No difference

Everything works normally...all fiery functions from the desktop to the machine work fine. I can even see the control panel and config pages.

I am not familiar with FACI?? I will look in to it.

I was reading somewhere that it could be a cable problem?? Any thoughts??

Sometimes Fiery's do weird and wonderful things but it does sound like you have a partial connection issue between the device and controller

Normally I would advise shutting down both the device and Fiery, remove all cables between Fiery and the device the re connect. Switch the device on first and wait until ready then turn on the Fiery.

If that fails then hopefully you have the Fiery system software and half a day free

Ok guys (Thanks Moza) It rebooted everything and it worked!!

I do not have the software (I bought it from an auction house...No Software came with it)

Is there a way to back up my drive (Ghost backup) so if anything happened to it I could just swap out the drives and keep working. (this is on a mac)

            Thanks,
            Jerry

Fiery Clone tool will do the back up........ The E-81 should also have a backup function through it's version of CWS via the FACI interface.

where can you download the Fiery Clone tool. The only backup on the CWS is for the workstation settings and the print files.

Time out..............I didn't catch this earlier but if you have a Pro c550ex you don't have a Fiery E-81, that is the bettor Fiery for the Pro C901. You most likely have an E-7100 or maybe an E-7200 neither come with the FACI kit and possibly are to early for the Fiery clone tool. The pro C550ex family was a hybrid of short life based on the c6000 and the soon to arrive c6001. I would check Electronics for Imaging for the Fiery clone tool if it's available. TSRC doesn't even list a fiery on the c550ex page and the PSG defaults to the c6000 PSG........

                  P.S. I only had 1 E-7100 and it wasn't a good time............

OK, I got some of this wrong! I did finally find the E-8100 on the tsrc site via a different link to Fiery. that being said Ricoh does not provide much info on it. some doc's and 4 tsb's no patches at all. They provide the following link to EFI for the patches: https://liveupdate.efi.com/webupdate...52EF131160.PPD

the current system update appears to be v1.1 . The E-8100 is the pro version of the controllers offered and was bundled with the c550ex family and not available to be ordered as an option.............

I was able to come up with 17 documents if I searched by Product Code D450 and 18 if I searched by Model Name E-8100. There were a some on each list that did not appear on the other. Included with the Product Code were "E-8100 Windows Updates Installer" and " E-8100 v1.11 Smart Patch Installer" both with a date of 2/9/2015.

What I did was to click on the Search button between the Global Knowledgebase and Tech Forum buttons. It is an alternative to rfg-esource but doesn't suffer from JAVA script problems.
