Ricoh MP 8001 Memory is full when copying only

Hello

Having the following issue, every time we run a copy by the second original machine says, memory is full Press [Continue] to scan and copy remaining, originals, machine is able to print scan to email and also have tested the document server, and machine picks up the originals at its normal speed. We replaced the hard Drive, also checked that it has the latest firmware, could this be a controller issue, any input would be greatly appreciated. I have searched and haven't found any info on this

Sounds like it could be a RAM issue.

Try reseating it.

If if that fails, replace it.

Before replacing the RAM, try some memory clearing. SP 5801 Memory Clear, do 004 through 009 and 018. This will clear all application memory, the image handling memory, the memory control service and system resource manager in the NVram. You may also want to reformat application portions of the HDD.

If the FAX option is not showing 100% memory available, run FAX SP 5102 Erase all files.

From memory we had an old AF3260c would do something similar when heaps of scan documents went into the ADF for scan-to-folder.
There where a Mix bag of PC's on the network, some had WinXP and some had Win7 software + updates. The MFD firmware was updated to Win7 at the time. We even change the RAM chips and CCD in the optics believing something was corrupt.

I'm trying think what it was . I believe someone traced it back to intermittent file server problems on the network.

I'm just putting it out there for something to look at. Sorry I can't be more specific.

We also tried sp 5801 and a new HDD.
Document scanner works perfect.
Scan to Email also.
Its only the Copy Function. takes in the first page then display reads memory full. Takes in the next page.

icoh mp2000 controller issue

Hello all!
I have an Mp2000 that prints mostly black pages (with margins) with the controller (feature expansion unit) plugged in. Also it shows "memory full" when you try to copy things. If you remove the controller unit, it works fine (no print/scan, obviously). I got the same behavior when I removed only the print/scan dimm. You can't print anything without the memory as you get sc819.
Previously about nine months ago, I had an issue with this machine where it would not warm up, just sat in please wait mode. I reseated the controller then and it fixed it. Anyone run into something like this? I found nothing in bulletins or goose's and my service dept. manager is giving me the evil eye for wanting to order a new controller board (B843).
It occurs to me it could also be a bad memory chip?

Removed print/scan. Same problem.
Removed fax. Same problem
Replaced ram. Same problem
Replaced Ipu. Same problem.

If the hard drive and the memory check good, the next thing to try would be a new controller.

update...its fixed...
we jumped to conclusions.
It was the HDD
(the machine we bought had a 120gig 7200 rpm HDD)
We replaced it with a 120gig SSD drive we had in our truck
the machine requires a 160gig 5400 rpm HDD.

it was the HDD.
