    Model - Problem

    Hi

I have a humble suggestion, could we all post in the Title field (when posting new threads): Model - Problem. That it, no need to post: Heeeeeelp, I'm new, Give me firmware etc...

And afterwards follow up if the problem is solved, giving the rep point and thanks.

I will hank up myself too. Let me hear the boooooing

    Nice weekend to y'all

ps. I mostly post here in the Ricoh forum, therefore This thread here and know it should regard the entire Copytechnet.

    I agree completely!
It's refreshing to have a rant in a different forum.
To quote the Beach boys, "Wouldn't it be nice?"

My thoughts? I think those of us that are here regularly, pretty much do that. The problem is with those that login only when they need something, do nothing to help themselves by actually searching. Contribute NOTHING to the betterment of the consortium by helping others, or saying 'thank you" (my BIGGEST pet peeve!), yadda, yadda, yadda....

The "problem" is getting bigger though.
It will never improve in my opinion, because they won't see this post anyway, because, AGAIN, they ONLY login to ask for something .

With all that said, it's still the best source for resources on printers/MFP's, connectivity, etc. on the internet, so I'll live with the bad, because there's so much GOOD here
So a BIG "THANK YOU" to all those that do selflessly donate their time and expertise on a regular basis!

Rant over! Have a nice weekend yourself!

Wouldn't that be nice? And a description of what the asking tech actually did without having to drag it out of him one word at a time.

I can remember being very green, and thinking that: "If I don't speak, I won't say anything stupid." That's certainly not true. The silence alone gives away how much you know and don't know. Looking stupid is just inherent in this line of work. You can laugh about it, or try to hide it. Your choice.

When I first started in this line of work it was really possible to know everything on a line of copiers, or a single brand name. But since nearly every company is covering 4 to 6 brands, and the last 10 or 12 years of products, it's just not possible to be knowledgeable on everything. So do what you can. Smile from your successes, and learn from your failures. And just admit it when you don't know something. It's so much easier for the conversation to proceed.

I have no idea where that just came from. =^..^=

If you'd like a serious answer to your request:
      1) demonstrate that you've read the manual
      2) demonstrate that you made some attempt to fix it.
      3) if you're going to ask about jams include the jam code.
      4) if you're going to ask about an error code include the error code.
      5) You are the person onsite. Only you can make observations.
