    MPC 4502a Fireware mistake

    Hi

    I have made a Boo boo and updated the Engine Firmware on my machine and the Firmware said it was for Single pass ADF and I have an ARDF, and now the DF tray lifts but does not feed and the scanner just scans under the glass as I had placed the paper on the glass. I have swapped the DF thinking it was that initially but that didn't work and now I am thinking....whoops.

    Can anyone help with Firmware or surest a fix, can you back date?

      Have you tried flashing the firmware again with the correct versions?

          Hi. Do I just reinstall the right firmware or is flashing doing something else. Not done it before. Done firmware loads of time just not sure on the term. I also don't have the firmware for the ARDF. I need to get it some how.

              just try and load the correct frimwar and see if that corrects the boo boo............

                  I need the correct firmware which I don't have. I was thinking that will do it as I assume it's a different part number so the machine will recognise that and change it.

                      Current ENGINE FIRMWARE ver. 1.10:04: Part number D1445114M, file name rfg051250.zip. You most likely loaded ENGINE (SINGLE PASS DF) FIRMWARE ver. 1.10:02: D1145118M, file name rfg051251.zip.

                      In reference to copier tech using the term "flashing", firmware is loaded to flash memory on the controller. We use the term reflash to mean reloading the current firmware.

                          I guess it because you flashed with Fireware and it burned...

                          Ok, bad joke sorry - The firmware is all on my ricoh and easy to download.
                          Please start you post with brand, model, problem.
