back in the dark ages, I worked for MCI/WorldCom as a contractor. if we were just a crew member we had to furnish 1/2 pickups to work out of, if we were promoted to crew lead, we had to buy 3/4 ton trucks. one guy got promoted and found some 2500 labels to put on his truck to show it was 3/4 ton, however the hubcaps on the rear still reflected the 1/2 ton rearend....he had to upgrade trucks, he ALMOST got away with it. so, it is possible to upgrade your van
