MPC2551 & Win 8.1

I'm having fun trying to get SMb scanning set up, authentication errors every time even though I know I'm using the correct user name and password. Windows 7 machine works first time but 8.1 not happening!!

Any ideas?

Update network firmware to 10.63 D1055745H.
Or set up FTP scanning.

I think you are right as o checked the firmware level and it was 10.62 so I tried to update it through the web page but couldn't? I downloaded the 10.63 file which had s MFW extension I think but when I tried to upload it to the machine I got an invalid extension error? I didn't have a SD card with me. Should it have worked using the web page?

not even sure what the mfw extension is sd card firmware would be D1055745H.fwu

Is a 2Gb SD card too big to use for firmware? I've been told it has to be a lot smaller?

Newer machines will take the 2G but i think you'll need a 1G or smaller for the MPC2551

Great advice, thank you, found s small SD card and did the firmware today and the scanning worked first time.

I use MiniTool Partition Wizard to change the partition size on SD cards when I need a card that is 2GB or smaller and only have 4GB cards or larger.
