Hello. totally new to this site. Hope this is what I'm supposed to do. I have a Savin 7502 that will only recognize some thumb drives placed into the USB port for scanning. The bad ones work in Toshiba machines but not in the savin. Savin says "device not recognized". Anyone? Anyone?

Ricoh specifically states that all flash drives will not be compatible. In the SM.NEVER ASSUME ANYTHING -

Re: Thumb Drive won't work on savin 7502
Still sounds like a formatting issue. I'd still venture on the flash drives that aren't recognised being formatted as NTFS. Try re-formatting one as ExFAT and see if you get a different result. NTFS support requires a license from Microsoft, which Ricoh probably hasn't paid for, and they try to keep their OS fairly lean so they likely haven't installed one of the open source Unix NTFS readers either.Comment

Get this!:
Fat32Formatter
Created by a Japanese programmer, it seems to work quite well!
Fat32Formatter is freeware and made by TOKIWA to format drive larger than 32GB to FAT32, which means it can walk around the OS restriction that you can format drive to FAT32 only the size up to 32GB on Windows2000/XP/Vista/7.
