e Studio 905 with dark background

... that seems to get darker with quantities.

The real question here is: "Did I fix anything?"

photo1 is the original issue before PM. photo2 is after the 500K kit. It looks to me like residual charge left on the drum, that seems to accumulate with copies. I thought of two possibilities:

    1) dirty or defective drum cleaning lamps.
    2) drum ground loss.

All the consumables are new, so I've ruled out consumables. I've done a few things. I disassembled and cleaned the drum cleaning LEDs and clear cover. There was noticeable toner dusting on the cover and inside the cover. I've cleaned and lubricated the charge contacts and developer bias contacts with conductive grease. After that the problem appeared after 40 ledger pages, and only very faintly. Lastly I disassembled the drum ground and applied conductive grease at the bearing contact. Other than being a little unpleasant to get to the problem seems to be gone. 3.9M prints.

Is there a maintenance life on that drum ground contact? Is this going to come back to bite me? =^..^=

If you'd like a serious answer to your request:
    1) demonstrate that you've read the manual
    2) demonstrate that you made some attempt to fix it.
    3) if you're going to ask about jams include the jam code.
    4) if you're going to ask about an error code include the error code.
    5) You are the person onsite. Only you can make observations.

It's Toshiba OEM, presumably the same as Ricoh OEM. =^..^=
