I don't use the batch downloader.

But hopefully Ricoh will get with the times and create a Chrome and Firefox extension instead.

Who uses IE as their default web browser these days.

Couldn't agree more with Cipher, a Firefox plug-in would be good. I only use IE for firmware downloading. I was using IE11 but that stopped working so I had to install IE9 and now all is good.
The install notes say its only guaranteed on XP and Win & 32bit with IE 8 and 9 which doesn't really help.!!!!!

It you are using Windows 7 or earlier, you can try to roll back Internet Explorer to 9 (uninstall updates). If you are using Windows 8, you can only roll back to IE 10. If you are using Windows 10, IE 11 is embedded in the OS.

You can also try using one of the compatibility options:
Click the gear Icon in the upper right hand corner of the screen and select Compatibility View Settings. Enter the URL of the site you wish to use in compatibility mode.
        Enter the integrated developer options:
        1. [*=1]Launch IE 11
[*=1]Press F12 and the developer options window will appear at the bottom of the screen
          [*=1]Click the emulation option
[*=1]Try change document and/or user agent string to either 8 or 9. Also try changing browser profile between Desktop and Windows Phone
[*=1]As long as you do not close the developer options window you will be in the mode selected. You can however unpin it, next to the close X

It seems this is a Windows 10 issue, as it works on my Win 7 laptop with IE 11

Re: Ricoh UK Batch fw downloader issues

We've just upgraded our laptops to Windows 10 & now all have this issue.

It seems that if I change the default firmware download folder from c:\FirmwareDownloads to a folder in my documents say c:\users\me\NewFolder then the batch program works!

I have tried giving full permissions to c:\FirmwareDownloads but still get this error, it seems windows 10 is somehow blocking the Ricoh program from accessing or even creating this folder.

Does anyone have anything else I can try? I could roll back to Windows 7 but this will soon be unsupported by Microsoft & i'm not a fan of downgrading.

                  Hi
I had the same problema but now it Works for me with IE 11 and win 10
Go to internet options and in security turn off protect mode
and ad my-ricoh.com to compatibiti view.

Excellent tip, simply turning off "protect mode" worked.

                    Many thanks!
