automatic switch over tray - printing

Although auto tray switching is off, switching occurs when paper tray is empty.
It only does this with printing, not copying.
We have checked the settings via WIM, loged in, "configuration", "printer", "basic settings", "tray switching" is "off"!!!
    Anyone an idea?
    Thank you in advance.
    Greetings,
    Mark

If you want a machine to completely ignore a tray unless specifically told to, uncheck Apply Auto Paper Select in the tray settings section of User Tools.
It's 106 miles to Chicago. We've got a full tank of gas, half a pack of cigarettes, it's dark and we're wearing sunglasses.

    Hit it.

Also, if you are using a universal type driver, the print jobs are sent individually. The machine interprets the resulting print calls as 'many auto tray selects', instead of 'just auto select the first tray available for everything'. (Kind of hard to explain)

If you only want to pull paper from a specific tray for a print job, you have to specify the tray in printer properties for the job.

Slimslob: that is correct, but it needs more time and manipulations to print. We have put the settings according to TonerMunckeh, and it works fine now! But thank you all anyway for the good info!
