I recently installed a Savin MP C2503 and used the SAVIN_PS_Printers_Vol3_EXP_LIO_2.6.0.0.dmg driver on all Mac's in the office ranging from OSX 10.7 up to 10.10 and cannot get a print job through. The print job gets through to the printing system with blue light flashing then errors out with a 91 code, using the generic pcl driver right now which is not a color driver. Any help will be appreciated.

Re: Ricoh / Gestetner Mac Printing Problems
I have to ask, does it have the optional Postscript 3 unit type M3 installed? -
Re: Ricoh / Gestetner Mac Printing Problems
Make sure that you have the type M3 and not the type M4 which is for the MP C4503/5503/6003 models only.
Check SP 5990-005 Diagnostic print to see if Postscript option shows. If not the SD card could be bad.
Update all firmware.
Embedded portion of Postscript, PDF Direct, on controller might be corrupted.Comment

Re: Ricoh / Gestetner Mac Printing Problems
Be sure the printer is configured using LPD and the queue name lp as opposed to TCP/IP or JetDirect: the copier itself is using a very similar OS to Mac OS X so LPD would be the native printing format for both devices. Also check and see if turning on error reports in User Tools under Printer Settings and PostScript settings gives you anything of value to use in troubleshooting. Finally, try turning off auto continue as well to make sure that there isn't any kind of conflict that is deleting the jobs at the machine.Comment

Re: Ricoh / Gestetner Mac Printing Problems
Enable your CUPS GUI in Safari:
In Safari Web Browser, type in the URL space: "localhost:631" minus the quotes!
If it is not enabled, it will tell you how to enable the GUI in the Terminal program.
Once enabled, you can go in and check the print logs for that MFP and see if there are any errors logged!
You can use this method on other *nix distros, such as Ubuntu for managing printers!
Unfortunately Apple has *limited* print set-up functions in system settings, so much so, that you can't even do a simple test print page for your printer! By enabling CUPS GUI, you can print a test page to make sure your printer prints ok.
As far as printing PDF documents, PDF is simply a container format that contains all of the elements compiling the document. Unfortunately, there are simple and complex PDF's. The simple PDF's have been correctly formatted and flattened to easily and quickly print on just about any printer. Complex PDF's on the other hand contain more formatting elements, elements which many times are meant to be used by a professional print shop to correctly render the document on output in a more complex print process. It is these complex PDF's that many times cause a simple printer to "error out" because of memory buffer overflow during the RIP process.
Good Luck!
