    ricoh mpc4501 i/h coil

    Hi All
Anyone know the part no for the thermal fuse within the i/h coil as i have a blown one. Cant find it in parts manual. If not available anyone know of a thermal fuse i can use instead rather than order the whole unit.

    Thanks

If its not fisically broken place some duct tape on top of it and the remove the tape as fast as you can. Hopefully the thermal fuse will pop back so you can save yourself from bying the whole ih

Yup, the tape method or giving it a quick rap on the backside to pop it back sometimes works.

Is this the part you're looking for?

Nothing works quite so well that I can't totally disable it by trying to make it a little better.

Freeze Spray?!...or canned air turned upside down?!

I believe the thermal "poppers" use a bi-metallic composition where if one of the metals gets hotter, it warps the bi-metal switch to break the circuit. You're just trying to reverse the process!

        Good Luck!

PS--if you have one of the Katun/Snap-On ratcheting handle magnet screwdrivers, you can smack the thermal switch on the concave part of the handle to reset it!

          Some interesting solutions here.
I Had on just last week. Tossed it in the freezer for several hours, then gave it a good slam (face down) on a table, popped right back out.

If the coil's thermal fuse has blown, then the cooling fan is blocked or damaged, and may also need replacing.

So far the only ones I have seen blown were from the crap design of the fuser being able to be removed and the customer thinks it is some sort of "pushbutton" that they try to reset when it jams. I have never seen one pop without help on these machines.

Or some one decides that it looks dusty when they have it out and try to dust it off. Tech support told me that once.
