    MP6002 Blabk pages

Has anyone run into issues with the MP6002 getting blank pages after a few hundred prints. We recently put one in a place that seems to be running 500 pages a week on average with mostly 2% coverage. The machine has less then 45k pages total on it. I have had to go twice due to blank pages coming out, i checked the dev unit the pcu and nothing is mechanically broke, first time i ran toner add 2 times and it was back to normal i did about 200 skyshots and confirmed it added toner on its own to keep up with full black pages, the second visit i ran toner add and did the sp changes regarding the TSB for light print / toner dusting. From the first visit to the second which was 10 days they only ran about 500 pages on it before getting blank pages, it acts like its not adding toner.

Is there any reason their lack of use on a 60ppm machine would cause this symptom, when i ran skyshots it kept up with toner just fine and added as needed. I know this is way oversized for their needs and this machine is supposed to run at 5% or higher coverage pretty much all the time, will this issue be a continual problem or should i check something else.

There was a bulletin covering this for previous models. See http://www.copytechnet.com/forums/ri...w-density.html

There is one regarding sp changes for the 02's, i just saw the one your talking about in a post as well regarding the dr blade. Weird thing is i am not getting any dusting which is usually caused by plugged filters and such. That and theirs only 45k total on this machine. But it was sold used to this customer with about 42k already on it before they got it. Its been in place about 2 weeks after it was shop tested without this issue appearing.

Check if toner is dropping on the ID sensor from the cleaning station. If so, replace the cleaning brush.

Of course there is a reason for that - the faster machines were designed to be run hard. If that sort of machine is not used enough, the toner feed won't run long enough in the default setting, which will cause light prints. It's been that way for years.
          Sorry.

You would think they would come up with a better system!

They have. Use a machine suited to the print volume and type that you will be using.

I am trying to get some back up thoughts, i told our sales team I really feel there will be on going issue with machine and its quality due to lack of use. I would rather see a 30ppm model in there with a 60k pm cycle. But I also wanted to make sure I wasnt missing anything else. I did check the ID sensor and its not dusting or spilling toner along the pcu assembly area.

Does it ever fire out completely blank pages? If so check the data log for laser error codes, I have had a faulty polygonal before today, and it didn't display either.

Check the toner hopper that sits on the developer for clog's and the sensor for a clump of toner on it...
Also clean filter on back upper cover.....

I've got a large account that has a mix of 6001's and 02's. They all run 25k to 120k depending on the department. most were running dirty and dusting heavily because the fill rates were 2 - 4%. using the settings from this TSB helped get the units to run much cleaner. especially a 9002 that runs 120k every month. As for the low volume machine that started this thread, it was the wrong placement for the machine, a 30-35 page machine would be better suited for the volume.
