    mpc2500

Just wondering if you need to run any simulations when replacing the drum & dev units in a mpc2500 or does the machine know you have replaced them

Reset the associated PM counters, SP 7804xxx. Then reboot using main power switch.

Or use "Manual New Unit Set" (SP 3-902-xxx) before you switch the machine off to replace PCU's, dev units, waste toner bottles etc individually.

This SP mode will reset the PM counter and the machine runs dev initialisation and process control on power-on (depending on what you have replaced of course).
It's 106 miles to Chicago. We've got a full tank of gas, half a pack of cigarettes, it's dark and we're wearing sunglasses.

      Hit it.

If you replace a whole dev unit the machine will detect it as a new unit and initialise the developer and reset the PM counter for that unit automatically.

If you only change the developer you manually need to initialise that colour developer changed with SP 3902-xxx then cycle the power off / on.

You can just replace a drum unit without doing anything special.
But it is good practice and comes in handy to reset the counters for all major PM items you replace.
