Ok...Here goes,
First off I am no network guy, not even close. I can't even network my home computers together, seriously.
But I have always been able to get a copier to hook up to a small office computer.
Unit: Ricoh Aficio MP 2852 with 54K. Purchased by me to resell to my customer.
Delivered copier to customer.
Hook up and ran new Cat5 to router.
Noticed that there were IP's already setup from previous owner still in the Interface Settings area. I changed to a new IP.
Setup IP address in copier. Used 192.168.1.22
Office has 2 computers running Windows 7 not networked together.
One is cat5'd directly to Charters router and the other is wireless and also hooks to Charters wireless router, both are accessing the router and cable modem as they should.
Next tried installing copier/printer to main computer using IP address input-ed to copier earlier and being copied straight from config sheet.
Computer can't find copier even after creating a new port and installing drivers (Tried Win 7 and Ricoh drivers from Ricoh-USA)
Next I tried to ping the copier from a command prompt...nothing.
Switched new Cat5 with another Cat5...nothing.
Tried to open Web Image Monitor using IP...Nothing (page timed out) Then I get the idea how about DHCP...same results as above.
Then I switched to the other computer...reason you ask..because it was wireless and had an open network spot to directly hook copier to, instead of the other computers router. Repeated all above procedures...still nothing.
Ok lets talk copier. Everything appears normal all buttons in User Tools are present and working, able to print out config sheet.
I rebooted multiple times during install attempts. Copier works in every other way except being able to print.
I have no back reference as to the history of the machine. I can't speak to if it had issues before today.
Unit was purchased from a wholesaler I've been using for years.
I think that's it.
I forgot to bring a config sheet with me when I left the customers office. I'm not a network guy...never thought to, until now.
Please if you have an idea of what the issue may be or an idea of something to try, lets have it.
I am desperate here. This is in an accountants office and it's tax season. And they ain't happy pencil pushers right now.
Thanks for looking
