Can you update firmware using the web image monitor or a remote? I'm not a dealer, so I use FMAudit to retrieve my meters for example. I've only done it with a SD card but I have several customers that are 3 and 4 hours away. It would definitely save a lot of time and money if I were able to do so! Thanks for any help!

It may be safer (OK, it IS safer), but being on site is not always practical, especially when great distances are concerned.“I think you should treat good friends like a fine wine. That’s why I keep mine locked up in the basement.” - Tim HawkinsComment

Re: Firmware update using WIM or remote
When you are doing remote firmware updates, you do one module at a time. Also, they do not have package firmware for remote update. Personally I do not like to push that much data over an internet connection. If it is at all possible, have a machine at the customer's location that you can remote into and do the updates through that. You can also look at meters using WIM or Smart Device Manager NX. SDMNX allows you to search an entire IP range for machines and create a CSV file. Both WIM and SDMNX break color down into separate full color, 1 color and 2 color totals for each function, print copy, fax.Comment

Re: Firmware update using WIM or remote
Very risky, if you do, make sure that no one touches the machine while updating. Have the customer unplug the fax line if it has one. It can take a while updating each file, plus the machine will restart after update is done. Be sure the customer knows this and as I said before make sure no one touches it while updating.Comment

Re: Firmware update using WIM or remote
1. At the moment Ricoh does not publish files for remote update (.rfu) in Europe at all - happily.
2. You have 100% of machine failure after remote update when even unimportant alert (paper end, toner end etc.) is visible on machine display
3. Remote update is extremelly time wasting work. You have to update every firmware one by one and reboot machine every time.
So, do not do remote updates because this is piece of sh.t.Last edited by pppp; 02-24-2016, 03:19 PM.Microsh.t is finished and Linux RulezComment
