MP2851 not recognizing fax unit

have an mp2851 just installed fax module it sent 1 fax and now the receive file light is lit and it doesn't see the fax anymore
Going Back for another fax board just wondering if there's anything, common the causes this

Since the machine recognized it before, clear the fax application and reseat the fax boards.

Yes I tried that while I was there and reseated the small board with the battery on it on the fax unit

Is the fax unit for the mp2550b the same?

NO, the FCU board might be the same but the MCU board where the firmware resides is different. Check the parts catalogs.
