    Ricoh Aficio 3045, SC322 / 323

    Sorry for the long post but wanted to describe best I can.

    Got in deep on this one and need some help. New customer called and said they had a SC322 code. After some research looking in serv man as well as posting on this forum it seemed like I could try cleaning the laser & reset code. There was a lot of toner in the machine and slit glass was missing. After cleaning machine & laser unit code reset and prints were good when done. Told cust i would order slit glass and be back.

    When I went back with slit glass about 2 weeks later and machine was passing a very faint print and was very dirty again! I vacuumed everything again and when I put it back together it threw a SC323 code. Went back a third time and replaced the laser diode board & laser motor and still have SC323 with blank pages.

    190k clicks on meter.

      Sc 323 means LD drive current too high . LD or BICU could be defective or poor connection between them

          If I find a machine where the laser shield glass I deadline the machine until it is replaced. I take the entire laser assembly back to the office with me so it can be thoroughly cleaned out of all toner and dust. Also, while the laser unit is out, vacuum all spewed toner from the inside of the machine and the toner tray. Check that the filter is installed correctly on the development unit and is clean. Throwing that much toner at 190K I would be inclined to say that it has not had a PM. If not order the kit and do a complete PM. Also if toner has gotten up around the front door interlock switch assembly you may need to replace the switches.
