[Misc] Strange noise on RICOH MPC2030

I got a RICOH MPC2030 with a strange noise comes from the exit (appears to be from exit side), but after check Fixing assembly, Paper exit, ITB and others, i canot find nothing to make noise. I perform output check on all motors, to recreate the noise, but nothing. This noise (a little loud noise), appears sometimes, it's not always. The copier print OK and not have problems or jams. The PCDU's wont make noise.
If you have tips i apreciate. Thank you.

The fuser sleeve on this model can cause strange noises, it's due to the lube bar in the sleeve drying out. Simply repace the sleeve or strip the sleeve unit & apply some high temp greese

There's a bulletin about this issue.
You have to change the pressure release timings for the fuser.

I have seen the lower plastic exit rollers either rattle or squeak in their brackets. Try a little lithium or silicon grease. If nothing else is available, Vaseline will work.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but the 2030/50 range still used a hot/pressure roller type fuser. It was only on the 2051 range that they adopted the fusing sleeve (pain in the a$$) design.

It's been a long while since I saw a 2030/2050 range but looking in the parts manual it does show a fusing sleeve ass'y, so i'd say it is a similar design to the 2051 etc

                  Hi

This is interesting as my parts manual shows this for the MPC2030:

This is interesting as my parts manual shows this for the MPC2030:
You both have two consecutive pages of the same manual. This model uses a fusing belt that goes around a hot roller, heating roller and a tension roller. copier tech the page you posted shows the belt, not a sleeve, and the tension roller. Polarbear you show the hot roller and heating roller.

This RTB applies to the successor of the 2030/2050. The 2030/2050 does not have a fusing sleeve, but a belt.

Hi, the previous guys are correct, ideally you need to change the fuser film or at least lube it with high temperature grease.

Here is a workaround which works for me on a couple of machines doing this

Switch off the so modes below and this stops the machine running on after finishing a copy cycle therefore no noise.

                        SP1-121-001 ([Switch:Rotation Start/Stop] Time:After Reload) [100] →[0]
                        SP1-121-002 ([Switch:Rotation Start/Stop] Time:After Recovery) [10] →[0]
                        SP1-121-003 ([Switch:Rotation Start/Stop] Time:After Job) [10] →[0]

Did anyone find what in the fusing unit causes the noise?

I had one just now - swopping the fuser gets rid of the noise, but there is no logical reason, as the fuser has a belt and not a sleeve like the 2051 that has the lube bar....

                          I am stumped....

HI Everyone! After 3 or maybe 4 years nobody have found a solution... i have a last chance to solve this problem with
SP 1 121 001/002/003 on a damned machine (2051). This is the last time i try something for this, i swear!

We have also found that these model is a very squeaky one, especially when making a lot of prints.
