    Ricoh MPC3003 SMB Problem

    Hi All,

Has anybody seen any issues recently with scanning to server 2012. Currently have an MPC3003, only a few weeks old which worked fine for a few weeks after install but suddenly stopped scanning.

The firmware is at the very latest version available from my-ricoh.com

I have checked the SMB sender username and password and that is fine. The paths are correct. I can scan to PC's on the domain but not to the server.
I cannot even browse to the scans folders on server from the copier.

I can use the Scanner a/c and log into PC's and see the folders and the a/c has all the security permissions to access the folders.

    Has anybody any ideas?

    Thanks in advance.

Get the server admins to backstep the version of SMB to v2. Another thing to try is scan to a Win8 PC. If that goes through fine, it's not the firmware version at fault, it's something that's blocking it on the server.
It's 106 miles to Chicago. We've got a full tank of gas, half a pack of cigarettes, it's dark and we're wearing sunglasses.

    Hit it.

I have been encountering problems of no netbios name resolution. Try using the IP address of the server and not the name.

Like slimslob said, if the server was entered by hostname, make sure there is at least one DNS server in network settings, and make sure it's one from the company network as opposed to a public Internet server. Also check the obvious things like user name, password, third party firewalls, and other security software. Also, Windows updates were released last Tuesday so it's possible something related to an update broke something.
