    [Jamming] MP2501 DF Jamming

Have a document that has a slight curl in the short edge feed that jams every time going through the DF. If i turn document to long edge feed with no paper curl = no jam. Problem is customer has an MP2000 also and when we copy this problem on the older machine the paper curl has no effect on the MP2000, DF works 100%. We have tried applying a guide to try and push paper down but with no success.

What is the jam code by chance? Could be several things, but starting with the jam code would be helpful here.

Is your customer scanning a lot of thin carbon/duplicate/triplicate pages ?

NO, Normal A4 80gsm paper. I know there is a mod out for multifeeding but this problem occurs single and double sided.

No DF on ANY machine will say it will feed originals with curls, there should be a label on the top of the DF clearly stating this!

The adf on those models used to dog ear and jam due to the left rear hinge, there was a TSB out on the adf about the hinges on them on most of them you could pull the two coil springs off the and stretch them or put a washer on the top side of the spring and reinstall them, if they were bad enough you pretty much just had to replace the hinge and springs together. This may or may not be your problem but is something to check into. I have replace problably a dozen hinges on the 2051s and did the washer or spring stretch on a dozen more to stop dog ears and jams.

This jam would occur as paper passes across the scan glass or as it feeds out, if its jamming before the round about it could be catching on the springs under the metal plate on the underside before the white plate i have had them pop out of place and catch paper.
