Hello again. Im having a problem lately with my Ricoh Pro900. Since some weeks ago, it displays some white lines in the midtones of the magenta unit. One of them is like ... "blurry", not straight, but other two are clearly white lines. What can it be?, I replaced the drum and the charge corona wire but it doesnt work. Maybe anything stuck in the developer unit? I did a simulation in photoshop of the problem: magenta unit.jpg. Thanks for your time and help!!

Re: White lines in midtones of magenta unit
Two possibilities for the straight lines.- Something on the laser shield glass.
- Something obstructing the doctor blade on the development unit.
The jagged line looks like a bit of thread or hair on the shield glass or in the laser unit that is moving due to air movement. -
Re: White lines in midtones of magenta unit
I've seen the wavy lines before. If you look in the near vicinity of the drum you may find a hair or fiber dragging through developed latent image on the magenta drum. The drum charge will make the hair "dance". =^..^=If you'd like a serious answer to your request:
1) demonstrate that you've read the manual
2) demonstrate that you made some attempt to fix it.
3) if you're going to ask about jams include the jam code.
4) if you're going to ask about an error code include the error code.
5) You are the person onsite. Only you can make observations.

Re: White lines in midtones of magenta unit
Hi again. I followed your advices, but it looks that Im missing something, because the problem is still there. I've cleaned everything near the drum but the line keeps appearing. I also cleaned the mylar (pic attached from the user's manual) and some other parts near the sensor but unsuccesfully... any other idea?, please.
Thanks a lotAttached FilesComment

Re: White lines in midtones of magenta unit
Hi again.
I've finally fixed it. This last saturday I had some free time and I dedicated some calm time to check the area near the drum... and yes, there was a microsmall hair next to the Id Sensor. It was so small that I didnt see it before, but I removed it and the white line disappeared.
Thanks again for your help and time.Comment

Re: White lines in midtones of magenta unit
This is hugely common on Sharp products. On several occasions I've addressed similar issues. I remove all the imaging components, and with a Stretch-N-Dust wipe down the frames, guides, everything within 25mm of the drum surface. Especially the upper seal over the developing roller, and the area above drum cleaning blade. When reassembled the line often remains, or has moved couple mm to the front or rear. It has taken as many as 10 times of re-examining the imaging components to make the line disappear, and as often as not, I never saw the fiber/hair.
