Check in User Tools and make sure all of the margin settings are at 0 otherwise you'll get a binding margin on the back of every page so that the text won't be cut through if the copies are bound.

Was anyone else reading this wondering when someone would hit on the easiest (and most obvious) fix? Back in the day we had SO many calls from customers about the line on the second side of their copies...

This is part of our initial set up on all new machines. It also part of the laundry lists of things that need to be redone when some idiot clears all memory.

Absolutely! One of the standard settings we initially do at setup. Uncounted service calls are avoided with User Tools and default settings.

I always wonder why the factory doesn't just set it a 0 in the first place.....

Because in Japan and many other parts of the world they try to reduce paper usage by going to very narrow right margins. The 4mm backside margin offset allows room for stapling and hole punching without stapling or hole punching into part of the text.

Having same issue only happens when running through adf. This is what i have done so far cleaned every piece of plastic and rubber in adf. Cleaned glass and optics set all margins are at 0 and checked fuser still having issue. Also played with paper trays to see if adjustment was needed. Any help would be greatly appreciated

By "margins" are you just referring to "Duplex" margins in UT?
Sounds to me like you need an ADF margin adjustment in SP mode

A line on 2nd side w a single pass df would be dirty slit glass over the CIS inside the document feeder. If off the glass also, check mirrors under glass.

SP6017 set to -.5 to -1 will work as well
