[Electrical] Copier does not turn on

    Hi,
I just receive a Lanier/Ricoh copier LD430C from an Imaging Center. It was working, but once I plug it at home, it does not. Will it cost a lot to fix this problem?

It depends on the actual problem. It's like telling a mechanic your car doesn't start. There could be several reasons.

I'd like to answer that, but unfortunately my crystal ball is in for service too.

For now make sure that the socket you are plugging the machine into works and is able to provide enough power for the machine. Some machines requires 15 amps some 20 amps. Some (in the US) are 110v and some very large units are 220v.

Check the power cable for cracks, cuts, etc. If it is damaged a cable like this https://amzn.com/B0027JRMD0 should suffice. Assuming you have a 15 amp machine.

Also, maybe you should call the people you just bought it from and inquire with them?

            Thank you!

It's a very heavy machine. I realize that there is a split between the cord and the plug. I will buy another one.

The delivery guys probably ran the machine over it's cord.

Just make sure you get one rated to carry the amount of current the machine will draw. Copiers suck down a lot of power when running and if you don't want to melt the cable and possibly burn your house down you need the right one. There should be a sticker in the area of the power cable socket with an amp rating.
