Ricoh MPC305SPF Greyed out button, login/logout button beeps

My Ricoh MPC 305 SPF "Check Status" Button Takes me to the Check Status Screen.

The Machine Status Says "Normal", however the button is grayed out and can not be accessed.
The copier, fax, printer and scanner, all say "Ready", and the button is not grayed out and can be accessed.

Also, my Login/Logout Button on the printer does not bring up the login screen. It just beeps 2 times.

Any help would be appreciated.

If rebooting the machine doesn't help update all the firmware to the latest versions.

If the status is "Normal" ten there is nothing in the machine status to be checked therefore the button is greyed out. If it was not normal then it would not be greyed out.

As for the login/logout button beeping, it means that you are on a screen that does not allow login or that administrator authentication is off.

How do I turn administrator authentication on, and is that something that I would want on. Also, give me an example of a screen that would have login/logout requirements. I just recently purchased this machine.

One other issue I forgot to mention. Sometimes, I get an out of paper message, and yet the paper tray has about 1/4 of paper in the bottom. Where is the adjustment for that. Is there some sort of limit switch, or
sensor adjustment.

How do I know if I have the latest firmware for my machine, and where would I got to download the latest firmware if it is not current.

Firmware is only available to qualified technicians.

There is no adjustment for the paper tray, however take out the tray & inspect it, the black lifter cam can crack or even break causing a load paper message.

If you were a trained and authorized dealer tech you would already know the answers to these questions. HTML operation manuals are online. Security Guide should be on the disk that came with the machine. Complete manuals with security guide is available of the tech support websites.

If you bought the machine from a reputable dealer then it should be no problem to call them and have them send someone out to train you and answer all of your questions. Downloading and reading the operator manuals would be a great help to you also.
