SMB scanning and firmware version needed

hi
is there any way to know on the older machines ie.mp201spf/mpc2050/mpc2051/mpc3501 which network support firmware is mininiunm? ie above ver 8.0??
i have a mp201spf that is going to a home office 300 miles away from a local accnt i service and it has ver 9.05.02.
will that work with windows 10???

Best way is to keep all your machines up to date with the latest firmware, update every service visit, it is worth the effort

For some reason the NCS firmware is not shown in the Firmware History. It is common with the MP 171 and is listed in that firmware history. The current version is 9.07 and us required for Window 8 and later, Server 2012 and OS X 10.7/10.8. Requires System/Copy version 1.05 or later, current is 1.08.

my issue is i dont have access always to the firmware and dont like to bug the service manager that helps me out
in a pinch.
i use to have a buddy who did work with me and had the login accnt but he moved far far away .

For some reason the NCS firmware is not shown in the Firmware History. It is common with the MP 171 and is listed in that firmware history. The current version is 9.07 and us required for Window 8 and later, Server 2012 and OS X 10.7/10.8. Requires System/Copy version 1.05 or later, current is 1.08.

According to the MP 171 firmware history, yes.

NCS is under special firmware just below remote firmware. I had to update 8 MP201's today and it fixed scan to folder for all of them. And that was scanning to WIN 10.

NCS 9-07 was initially released as a Custom/Special firmware but is now available as a standard firmware, you just have to download off the MP 171 page.

Power off the machine, unzip the file to sdcard romdata\d072\...files , put in the sdcard to ->slot 2 on mp171 ->power on-> select desired firmware

Symptom corrected: - If "CNAME" is specified as the destination folder, ScanTo Folder will abort. - If NBT is disabled, the destination for Scan to Folder might not be displayed and Windows authentication might fail. - Cannot scan to shared folders in Windows 8 and Windows Sever 2012. - Cannot scan to shared folders in Mac OS X 10.7 or Mac OS X 10.8. This firmware is dependent on the following firmware modules. Please be sure to update all of them: System/Copy firmware v1.05 or later

The advanced sharing settings have to be set to: network discovery "on", file and printer sharing "on", public files can be seen by all on network "on" and turn off password protected sharing (Ricoh machines only send the login info once, not at every level.) The file properties must be set to: ready to archive (advanced button on the general tab,) advanced sharing permissions to allow everyone full control.
