Ricoh's published policy for HDDs on machines being traded in or returned from lease was if the machine did not have DiskOverwriteSecurity installed and active, if the customer asked for the disk, it was to be surrendered to the customer.

What I've heard from Ricoh trainers was that if you leased the Machine direct from Ricoh and wanted the HDD out of it after your contract ended you could get it... for a several hundred dollar service fee. I think it was between $300 and $600.
