[Dead] mpc306zsp blank screen

i have a dead screen on a mpc306 with the android screen.

customer unplugged it from the wall by accident and now its blank but the blue light comes on and the everything else warms up like the fuser ok.

disconnected the hdd with no luck

tried to get the machine into recovery mode but i obviously cant because the screen is blank (black)

can it be a board fault?? psu? bicu? controller??

Had a customer with the same problem. Install team(outsourced) pulled the plug after getting a meter reading & took 30 mins to come back on again.

Try reinstalling the firmware package again - mine took an age to do but it finally took it.

Don't know but it's worth a try. Word of advice though it takes about 15 mins for it to start changing screens if it works - I was tempted to pull it as I thought I'd bricked it when it looked liked it had stuck.

Once it come up, check what the default screen is set for in user tools. If it is not either the Home Screen, one of the copy functions or the document server, the display may not come up until that function finishes initializing, which could be a rather long time if it is defaulted to a JAVA App, JAVA has to initialize then the App has to initialize.

Fixed

i replaced the ops panel assy. Under warranty anyway

It could have been a loose ribbon cable or a fried board.

Touch wood, have not had anything like this yet, just a customer who smashed their screen to pieces.

Keep in mind that on the Android devices the panel and the device have seperate service modes, which could explain why the device started up normally, but the panel stayed black. The panel OS is on the panel, not on the device like on previous devices.

It is almost a android tablet with an interface to the print engine.
