MPc3003 "Please Wait" - Never boots

I have a very new (under 100 copies) MPC3003 that will never reach the ready screen and will only display the initial Please Wait screen.

Ideas? So far I have re seated all the connectors on the Control PCB, Control panel, and HDD.

I tried that as well and it still just sits at the very first Please Wait screen and never codes or does anything. The fuser is warm so I know at least that is getting power

How long have you have you waited to see if it will come up before giving up and shutting it off? If the default screen is a JAVA App, the display will show "Please Wait" for an extended length of time. JAVA is the last function to load. JAVA Apps do not load until JAVA has completely loaded. The App screen will not come up until the App has fully loaded.

Probably time to initiate a swap with ricoh - if the print engine does it's initial run you might have an issue with a non-booting op panel

            Try
Take out the fusing , leave open the front door on the machine to receive an error.

power on, push Reset (yellow button), 8-0-6-1-8-2, then the Clear Button (C)
            select (touch) copy sp
            enter 5801001 #
wait to execute clear all and push the power again to
            Power off then Power on

Last time i messed with it I powered it on and worked on something else for almost an hour and it was still at the 'Please Wait' screen. I was thinking the same thing as you concerning the Java option

Re: MPc3003 "Please Wait" - Never boots

                    Just questions.

Do you have more users on the machine? (you can save the adressbook to sd if is still accessible with SP5846-051 and restore with SP5846-052)
Do you know the machine ip ? (you can get it from a pc)
You can keep a "non booting" machine in this stage for more time?
Do you have 30 minutes to reconfigure the machine if you can access it?

It is only my personal opinion. Instead of losing days i prefer to lose a few hours to fix a machine.
Also you can try a "half" memory clear only for default system settings, SCS (System Control Service) settings, operation displaycoordinates, and ROM update information with 5801-003.

Or you can try to Initialize just all copier application settings with 5801-006.

The machine will not let me into service mode because it never comes to a ready screen.

It will sit here for as long as I keep the machine on. Never codes or changes states

You stated earlier that you tried powering it up with the HDD disconnected. Your display shows a FAX feature - have you tried removing the FAX option and powering it up? You can get some weird scenarios occurring with bad or poorly seated FAX boards.

Please wait...It means the printer is preparing, cooling down the fusing unit, initializing the development unit, loading toner, or executing maintenance operations

This can be a faulty controler , bad firmware , bad fuser, fax or ardf also.
Try to take out/disconect fuser, pcu unit, ardf to gain acces.
Measure with multimeter the power unit voltages maybe somwhere you will find a lack indicating the protection mechanism for the related part.

On older machines Diagnostic mode helped me (hold # and . at power up) maybe work also on 3003 but i not tryed yet.
On some other machines ex.mpc7500 diagnostic mode is
the * and # buttons and switch on the machine

I thought of that and removed the fax option this morning with no change.
