    mp 2501

i replaced developer, drum ,blade and instand of sp 2801 i executed 2802. Made some copies , were light. I execited sp 2801 with no result.
I replaced developer again and done sp 2801 but copy is still light especially at both edges (top and bottom) .
Cleaned optics, laser unit , no result.
Swapted the whole drum unit with an other from other machine which was ok, no result.
Any idea? Perhaps i changed a value but i don't think so.

Do the the machine's internal prints (like the print count report in user tools, or the reports from SP 990) look OK?
If so, there's a fair chance you might need to check the optics. Especially the white reference plate.

Clean also the Image density sensor.

Maybe you can fix with the 2201-001
Adjusts the voltage applied to the development roller for printing. Image density becomes
higher when you specify a smaller value (a greater absolute value). Image density
becomes lower when you specify a greater value (a smaller absolute value).

Check or clean the laser, very. Also remove & clean the slit glass this often gets forgotten

Did you use an OEM drum in your machines? I learned that non-OEM drums leads to light copies/density issues even if you had no issues with them in older models (MP2000, A2018..). We also had issues with one unit with a faulty erase lamp but I think the symptome was different, still might be no harm to check the LED strip via output check.

Quick question: What developer did you use? D1589640?

Was everything fitted back correctly once the rebuild was complete? I know that a deformed charge roller contact can cause all kinds of headaches.

So if signifiant the improovement try to put more toner in unit with sp 2908 check if fix the light printing if yes your problem is inside in the development unit. If the image remain good leave as is if the image become again lighter check the charge roller spring, around the toner supply shuter and D1583390 DENSITY SENSOR:C4:ASS'Y.
Your unit dont have/receive enough toner inside.
