Today, I want to share my experience with a machine. A few days ago, a machine consistently showed me the codes SC390 and SC392. I changes everything (Developer, ID Sensor, TD Sensor, Drum, OPC Unit, Main Board.. etc, etc) It got me CRAZY!. I looked for information and help everywhere with no success. But thanks to the manuals and a little bit of logic I finally find the solution (or posible solution, it might not work everytime. I think).
So, first of all the manual said this:
Simple, Isn't it?. Well, think again... Is not always simple, believe me. As i'm ready said, I changed everything and tried everything with no succes. So, I read the manual many, many times till I find a work around.
The tone supply process is this: The machine constantly check the TD Sensor Value (Vt/Vts) and compare with the References Value (Vref), if the Vt/Vts value is higher than the Vref. the machine initiate the supply toner process. If the Vref value is higher than the Vt/Vts, the machine doesn't start the process. In my case, the machine showed me this values Vt/Vts 0.60/1.10 or below and Vref 2.50 (normal values). The quality was horrible. in some cases almost blank copy.
So, whats the solution?. This is the solution...
I found this SP Codes:
2929 - Vref Adjusment
2929 1 Upper Limit
Adjusts the upper limit for Vref. [0.00 ~ 5.00 / 3.10 / 0.01 V/step]
2921 2 Lower Limit
Adjusts the lower limit for Vref. [0.00 ~ 5.00 / 1.40 / 0.01 V/step]
As i'm ready explain. If the Vt/Vts value is higher than Vref Value the machine starts the supply process. With this code you can stablish an specific Vref value. In my case, when the Vt/Vts reach 1.10 or higher the quality go down considerably. So, I put my own values for the Vref Lower 0.50 and Upper 1.00. and this solved the problem. The machine start the process normaly.
This is a simple solution and works really well. This can be used in this models - 2027/2022/2550/3010/161/2020/1600/MP2000/1515
