MPC 2003 Quality

Hello my friends,

i changed all drums and developing units of a MPC 2003.After that i got a bad printout of the ACC.
See picture below.

I adj the SP- 2-111-004 d or c,b,a.
I changed the TransferBelt and also the ID Unit.

The cyan is out of range,but i dont no why ?

Anyone has an idea ?

Did you already replaced TCB? That will be the solution.

You need to clean the laser shield glasses. If you do not know how to do this, you should not be working om Ricoh color machines.

Well this is news to me, where's this come from? Can't see anything like that in the service manual and there was no SP mode change information in the box the new one came in.

These entry level 03 series do seem to need bit more TLC that the 3003 for example, PM life is very short & as mentioned above following the service manual PCU or DU procedure is important.

You are looking in the wrong service manual. You need the D176/D177 service manual for the C2003/C2503.

Hello and god morning folks,

thanks for your inspirations.

So far,the main mistake i have done was to forget mounting the Back-Covers of the PCDU.
There ist in each Cover an el.Contact which is importend.


Now the ACC looks god......exept the line of the Cyan,see below:

You have a small deletion in your cyan dev unit or some dirt on the scan glass.

the bad news is the cyan bar on the sample has shrunk from both ends lol, it would be interesting to compare the acc print from 'copier' with one from 'printer'

You have a small deletion in your cyan dev unit or some dirt on the scan glass.

You appear to have three void areas on the cyan and one in the black. Clean the laser shield glasses with the blue wand mounted in the front door. If the voids are still there, replace the development unit.

Yes the 2003 has these silly brass plates in the back cover of the PCU and the replacement ones DON'T. Learnt that the hard way. Also some of the other models use the same PCU but without the brass plate...
