    [Electrical] Ricoh MPC 5502 SC553

    Managed to trap a lamp wire whilst changing the sleeve,blew the mains,machine powers up fine,SC553-swopped with good fuser,still the same,what do reckon,new IOB or themoplies?Hv board fuses ok

    Ignore the Italics I was incorrect.

    The thermopiles are part of the fuser, if that was the only problem the fuser swap would have fixed your code.


    Since the codes states it's an overheat error could be your IOB is not telling the fuser to turn off.

    I don't believe the HV board is used in the fusing circuit. Not sure though.

      Did you do an SC reset? SP-5-810? Sometimes you just have to clear the code.

        Reset SC code,tried a new fuse as well on the sleeve,get failed result on 5810-2,I've ordered the IOB

          Eh? I thought the thermopiles were on the machine frame?
          It's 106 miles to Chicago. We've got a full tank of gas, half a pack of cigarettes, it's dark and we're wearing sunglasses.

            I rechecked and you are correct. The first picture I looked at made it appear the thermopiles are attached to the fuser.

              Having checked the parts catalog I at first assumed the thermopiles were small trumpets that play a fanfare when a fuser code is reset.
