Re: Ricoh MPC 5502 SC553
The thermopiles are part of the fuser, if that was the only problem the fuser swap would have fixed your code.
Since the codes states it's an overheat error could be your IOB is not telling the fuser to turn off.
I don't believe the HV board is used in the fusing circuit. Not sure though.Last edited by sturmtrooper; 11-04-2016, 03:39 PM. -

Did you do an SC reset? SP-5-810? Sometimes you just have to clear the code.Comment

I don't believe the HV board is used in the fusing circuit. Not sure though. It's 106 miles to Chicago. We've got a full tank of gas, half a pack of cigarettes, it's dark and we're wearing sunglasses.

I rechecked and you are correct. The first picture I looked at made it appear the thermopiles are attached to the fuser.Comment

Having checked the parts catalog I at first assumed the thermopiles were small trumpets that play a fanfare when a fuser code is reset. It's 106 miles to Chicago. We've got a full tank of gas, half a pack of cigarettes, it's dark and we're wearing sunglasses.
