I've experienced this on every Ricoh with this type of toner delivery system since the 6645 (A096). Clean the cup out frequently and keep a wiper handy for the spills right below it. SOP for Ricohs. The B003 series was worse than this model for toner spills.
Bit of a common problem this. I agree with the other techi who said clean the cup out. Normally what I do every 200k copies or so is remove the entire hopper unit , empty everything into a bin and then completely vacuum everything.
This reduces the spills and keeps everything clean, which is also important for the motor that drives the toner bottle. The last thing you want is that motor to stop working just because of a simple clean up.
