    Pro C651Ex Print Option ?

    Hi All
    Can anyone help
    just recieved a used Pro C651 Ex but the Fiery did not arrive with it
    does it have print installed as an option for use without a fiery
    or do i need to get an sd with the option on
    or do i need to get a fiery to print
    i have changed the sp controller option to no external fiery
    but cant find any sp mode to disable enable option for print

      How many NIC's are there in the controller? That's the usual way to find out whether it's capable of GW printing.
      It's 106 miles to Chicago. We've got a full tank of gas, half a pack of cigarettes, it's dark and we're wearing sunglasses.

          It has 2 x Nic 1 on board and an optional 1 fitted

              Is SP 5985 for the NIC enabled?

                  Yes nic and usb enabled
                  the scan option is there just no print option

                      Check the following sp 5-193 (External controller information setting):
                      This SP selects the controller type. This setting needs to be done if an external controller is
                      Installed in the machine.
                      [0 to 6/0/1]
                      0: No external controller installed
                      1: EFI controller
                      2: Ratio controller
                      3: Egret controller
                      4: GJ
                      5: Creo
                      6: QX-100

                          So the bottom line is, no there is no build in print function, you need an external controller.

                              From the service manual:
                              • Although this machine also has the GW controller, there are no GW printer applications. All printing features are provided by the Fiery E-41A external controller.
                              • The D074/D075 is equipped with both GW and Fiery scanner functions. Both features are available at any time when the GW and Fiery controllers are connected via the same network.


                              There are 2 network jacks. The gigabit jack is the EFI fiery port. The other, the one directly below the USB(for Japan) port is for WIM and @Remote.

                                  The first series of PRO C651 CANNOT print without Fiery. It is only from a year after the first production that it is possible via PCL
