MPC3300 second paper drawer issue

Hey maybe some can help with this, I have a second paper drawer that intermittently does not pick up the paper, i have changer out the feed tire's the reverse rollr clutch and the paper pick up feed clutch
is there a common problem somewhere on these? I do have another in the field that i never hear a peep from...

Hello.

I suggest you to check the entire feed unit.
It has happened to me several times the need to clean it all and lubricate the bearings...

ok thanks, and if i may ask , do you deal with the return cable thats spring loaded on the back side of the inside of the duplexer? to remove the paper feed mechanism, it seems this must be delt with right?

There's a latch to hold the duplexer cable spring allowing the cable to be unhooked from the main machine. Undo the front stopper, let the duplexer down further than usual, reach under the bypass and activate latch, raise up duplexer to rest the spring on latch. No hard once you realize the latch / catch is there.

There is an updated bushing that is longer than the original in the feed assembly. If you press the pickup arm release and see if the arm has unusual free play, if so either update the bushing or replace the assembly.

check the tray itself, the latch that holds the tray in, may be broken and letting the tray back out.

Things that I have encountered with paper feed tray no feed:

1. Sheet of paper with corners bent under so that the back lead edge of the paper is lifted higher than the center.
2. Paper lift plate is warped.

In either of these cases, the paper at the back lifts the paper sensor before the paper is touching the pickup roller.

How are the vertical guide plates ?
Are the tabs broken off the guide plates ?
