[Electrical] MP 2001 Not Working

Hi guys. Got an MP 2001 that is not responding. When I turn on the main power switch the main power indicator is on and the operation panel is off. The machine is not running at all. Could this be a defective BICU or Power Supply? Need your help before I order the wrong part. Thanks in advance.

Could also be the controller. Disconnect all the options, check the fuses on the PSU.

Then unfortunately it's a bit of a guessing game. PSU would be the likely bet but you'll have to order all 3 parts, PSU, controller and BICU. Could also be the DCSW board that sits on the PSU.

in such cases it helps when you get some more info:
was there a power breakdown before it happens?
When did actually this problem occur and what were the conditions then:
was it printing when it happens, or just by putting it on in the morning?
etcetera...

i know the color copiers (c2000 c2500 c3000 c2800 c3300) have issues like this. the polygon motor in the laser malfunctions and takes out the bicu. i have had to replace these as a set multiple times now. if you shine a flash lite at the screen you can sometimes see the sc code on the screen even though its dark.

Hi guys. I fitted the BICU and power supply. The machine came up with SC 101. I have put the scanner assembly and NVRAM in another machine and it is working fine. What could it be now

Soon after the MP2501 launched here in South Africa, we received one that had the same symptoms out of the box.

We needed to replace the BICU (if I remember correctly).

Was this machine working before?

Please check that all the connectors are fully inserted, and in the correct sockets.

Can you enter SP mode? Check all the sensors via SP 5-803 (input check) to make sure it is not a faulty sensor that is causing your headache.

This is a brand new machine. I fitted new BICU and it came up with SC 101. The power supply and scanner assembly are working in the other machine. I have ordered new NVRAM. Funny thing though is that the NVRAM is working on the old machine. The new machine is working if I put the BICU from another machine.

If as you say it is a brand new machine it should be replaced under warranty. Stop f**king with it.

Ricoh does not replace PCB's under warranty. I am not sure if I stand to be corrected.

Out of box failures they replace the entire machine.
