[Misc] Smart Operational Panel 2nd Generation

Can anyone help me with entering screen service mode and recovery mode for the new SmartOperationPanel (SOP) 2nd Generation (used in MP6503SP and others)?

I don't need to enter the MFP service mode, but SOP service modes!!!

No legacy option now, all the new models come with them.

It's what I call Ricoh's big push.

I don't dis-like them though.
But the screens could do with being a lot brighter, and they can suffer from glare back from overhead lighting depending on the angle.

Then the model would be an MP6503ZSP ?

They've dropped the Z because all the machines are coming out with SOP's.

Yes, you are right. But we sell 1 new machine (or less) per year from models above 60 cpm. That's way it doesn't worth to send a technician for training having in mind that the model is 99% the same as the previous ones except the panel.

I hoped that I can get the required information here faster than calling to Ricoh...

They've dropped the Z because all the machines are coming out with SOP's.

You should also have in mind that MP6503SP is equipped with SOP 2nd generation which has some differences with the previos generation.

The SOP service manual is part of the service manuals for the newer products, available from Ricoh. As a favour, I have excerpted just the SOPv2 portion from the MPCxx04 manual.

It's also part of the training for the C3004, I believe the tier 1 section covers it.

Thanks! It seems that RICOH forgot to list that manual under MP6503SP service files. As I expected no information about the exact code for panel service model in that PDF...
