    Mp c4502 has sc 549

I did a normal fuser rebuild on this 4502 today. It had an alarm for roller needing replaced. I did the sleeve, the press roll and new thermisters. I actually did just the sleeve but it coded 549 which is low temp so i did press roll and got same code so i did thermisters and got same code. Initially the fuser gets hot, sp fuser display temps show normal at first warm up but soon as you print a page the pressure roll ends drop drastically and dont return. I can let the fuser warm up and rhen remove it and immediatly i can touch the pressure ends with my fingers and they are just warm. The center is to hot to touch but the ends are not.

Is it possible my hot roller assembly was just bad out of the box ive never had this issue. It also shows no previous sc codes for fuser before the replacement. I did also check the connections of the ffc and bcu and the machine side harness and thermopiles all connections are good and undamaged so its gotta be a lamp issue or something.

    Any thoughts.
    Thanks

In the UK all the mpcxx02 models use the same fuser sleeve. I've had a few turn up with broken lamps, you could fit the old lamps to your new sleeve i've done that before.

I used the d144 part #, i know the 30ppm has different color lamp connectors so i can usually catch that. So its all correct, and there was no glass in the box for busted bulb so may be cracked but wouldnt a defective lamp cause a fault in all of them or code the machine with a lamp error.

Sounds like a lamp has gone in the new sleeve. I've had one on a Metis new out the box fail. I'd go with what copier tech said.

I think I will try a new one and send this one back to the boss for warranty credit

Really? I thought the D142 sleeve fit the 30/35 and the D144 fit the 45/55.

I've had an entire order of fusing sleeve assemblies arrive with one lamp open, so it does happen.

So this did end up being a bad assembly right out of the box once it was swapped with a new one it ran fine. Thats the first one i have had not work out of the box

                    Hi there!
As i wrote before, i had this issue on 2 boxes. One of the 3 lamps was gone, but it never shows any sc-code!!! Since then i allways take my voltmeter measuring the lamps before installing the sleeveroller. We have 2 spare-fusers, one for the 30/3502, and one for the 45/5502. I rebuild them in the shop, so we only have to change the whole unit without "kitbashing" at the customers side. BTW, you only get the sleeve with the (new) number D1444273.
Greetings... Merry Christmas and a happy new year

It may be the first bad sleeve assembly but probably not the last!
Where I work we've been told to check the continuity of lamps on all these sleeves before they leave our building.

We've never had one appear broken, but we've had lots with bad lamps.
