Firstly, does it actually have a finisher attached to it? If not, remove the bridge unit, replace with an output tray, and set the paper output to the internal tray. If it does, check the finisher connector and plug for damage, have known these connectors to get damaged in the past.

Normal for Ricoh. The first time a error is detected with a finisher, it is shown as a jam. Clear the jam and if the same error is immediately detected it then show the Service Code for the error, in this case SC 720-081, Paper position sensor slide motor error.

Maybe you know which sensor is this on sr3110?

I would pull the punch unit out, vacuum out all the chads and check that everything is moving freely.
The error is coming from the punch unit.

Yes I just had this the other week.

Your hole punch unit is toast, replace it

Same error here - a paperclip was preventing the hole punch from initializing/getting to home position. After fishing the clip out, all finisher functions resumed.
