MP C4503 Received fax but cant send fax with a voip line

Hello,

Today i had to install an Ricoh MP C4503, saddly the custommer had a Voip Line so the FAX is giving me headache.

i tried already to change the Bitrate of the FAX to 9,6Kbps but no luck also changed it to 2,4kbps but stil no luck.
i have also shutdown the ECM in the Fax SP.

any ideas will be appreciatet.

Sound to me like a VOIP line problem, not a machine problem. Contact the VOIP line provider and tell them that the line is not supporting outgoing FAX.

The problem is that a Ricoh technician gave me the SP table to change the bitrate but its not function, and when i call Ricoh they simply dont answer because they're on holiday ( netherlands )

That SP table is only part of the problem. There are certain settings fir the VOIP line itself that have to be made.

Does it also happen if you use on hook/manual dial (while hering into the speaker). If that works you just need to turn off dial tone detection - that often causes connection issues // set user sw22 bit 0->0 ....IIRC^^. Otherwise the linked PDF includes all neccessary VoIP tweaks and since RX works it seems not a communication problem to me (wich requires a connection).

I have already done step 6 and 7 of the FAX SP settings. but stil no results.

The Ports where forwarded and other machines can fax.....
i'm getting a listof wich machines are working and wich not.

for now 1 Brother MFC works.
so i think its the Ricoh with a faulty setup.


i hope they have a ricoh machine there so i can compare the SP table.

many times Brother has a better default setting and standard optional equipment than Ricoh...

I noticed the V8 protocol setting is different for the new ricoh mfp (moved to user switches) - (old SP G3 switch still exist but has no effect):

User SW 06 → bit #1 +# 2 +# 3 ---> set all to "0"

And don't forget User SW22 -> bit #0 -> set to "0"

I have transfered the problem to a Ricoh Engineer, when they finished i will ask them to tell me what the problem was. i will keep you guys informed.

Problem is solved, the Ricoh Technician did the same as i did the only thing is its right now working........

i have checked the steps 3 times and it was al good but did not work. i think he has magic hands....


for in the future the solution will be
change the baudrate to 9600 in SP 1-105-006 change the value to 0.1.0.0
====================SP 1-106-007 change the value to 0.1.0.0
SP 1-104-002 change the value to 0
