[Misc] Overbolding when print Thick type MPC 4501

    Hello fellow technicians,
New comer here and young technician.
    I have the following problem.
When i try to print any thick paper (thick 1 to thick 4) paper from any 1 series machine (4501-5501,3001-3501) i get something like overbolding and the text has a colored outline (usually redish). The machines are already calibrated.
    Any help is gladly appreciated

Can you post an example? What are the PM counters like?
It's 106 miles to Chicago. We've got a full tank of gas, half a pack of cigarettes, it's dark and we're wearing sunglasses.

    Hit it.

Sounds like a print driver setting or application setting. Think there is a setting to change bitmap to something else in the print driver. Hope that's a point to the right direction

Thanks for the answers. As for the example I'll try to post it tomorrow. As for the drivers I have used all the possible combinations in the pcl6.The same file with the same options printed in mpc4503 and in mpc2800 just fine.I came to the conclusion that it has to do something with the 1series

Both. Still the same. I can't figure out why this happens only in thick modes

Does it happen on other files when printing to the 1-series machines? Or just that specific file?

You mentioned this happens with the PCL6 driver. Have you tried PCL5 or PS? If they do the same thing it's something to do with the machine itself.

Stupid question: it also happens when copying?

                    Hello here are the samples,
first page from mp c5501 second from 2800.
i haven't tried with pcl5 'cos the client don't want them, although it will give them a shoot.
It happens in copying too.b/w and color too.

Apparently the text is not "true black"....it is printing as "Process Black" which is a combination of CMY(B)....if this is a PDF document that you are printing, the text should TRULY be text and NOT A GRAPHIC!!! If its a graphic and your whole document is in color, then it is probably using color to make black!!! BTW...if it's supposed to be sharply outlined text, it looks like your registration is off to line up the colors and make black!!!

Of Course it Is!....if you're going to copy in FULL COLOR!....It' going to REPRODUCE IN FULL COLOR!!!...if it's just completely black, then you shouldn't see that bolding....unless of course the original ALREADY has the bolding issue!!!....Your mis-registration of the color is an added monkey wrench in the mix!!!

a)no it's not from the file.
b)the file prints just fine in plain and recycle but from thick to thick 4 is overbolding.
c)IT HAPPENS IN COPY ALSO (EITHER GREYSCALE OR FULL COLOR)
d)a fellow technician told me to change black unit still haven't tried it.
e)It supposed to be a light font like in the 2800 one
f)i have tried with everything in drivers menu (print text as black, print in greyscale, all qualities, color profils etc)
                              thanks everyone so far
