    [Dead] MP6002 Dead ish

    Hey guys,
Bit of a strange one.... we replaced the drum and drum blade on a MP6002 last week, about an hour after our engineer left we had a call that the machine was causing the mains to short out.
when i arrived i found that once the mains had been reset i could power the machine on for all of 1 second and then it blew again.
I went over what our engineer had done again, checked the drum and all the earth points, nothing seemed out of the ordinary. I also checked the corona connection springs (one looked slightly skew) so i re seated it straight and put it all back together, it had been fine again up until yesterday when it blew the mains again.
Although it was slightly different this time, the machine was able to power back to a ready state after the mains had been reset.... i re checked all of what i had previously checked, i also unscrewed the two screws that the corona springs connect to when the unit is seated in the machine, they both seemed straight and fine....

Anybody ever experienced this? or can anyone point me in the direction of what to check next?

    Thanks in advance.

The last time that I had heard of a similar problem it turned out that the MFP was not on a dedicated circuit. There was a secretary elsewhere in the building who had put an electric heater under her desk and it was on the same circuit as the MFP.

The other cause could be a defective circuit breaker.

I've got another MPC5502 on the same circuit, a lamenating machine and a franking machine. all had been working harmoniously for the past month or so together

I'm thinking of a blocked cable, very possible area fusing unit.
Perhaps connector of fusing unit not correct...
Look for a short circuit... Inspect well all the places where the other tech has been...
        Fusing unit, is my guess.

Sounds like a good shout, think i may be getting bogged down just looking around drum and charge area, will check fuser area and report back.

That's a lot of machine on one circuit. I'd try at least shutting down the C5502 if not all of the other machines then firing up the 6002.
