What would cause paper to feed into the registration roller but the registration roller won't start feeding causing the machine to go into a misfeed? This also seems to happen more when I use the tandum tray than when I use the large capacity. Any help appreciated, thank you.

Hi Fierhawk,
First, I would see if the By-pass does the same, and see if the paper Long ways from the other trays do any thing different. Look where at what the machine says where the jam occurred. Try the input check to see if the sensor are reading correctly. If all this leads you nowhere, you might have to remove the reg. unit and inspect all the rollers and motors more closely for proper working order. I hope this helps.

This model does not use feed clutches, but they had some major problems with the one-way bearings in the feed units, see the bulletin.
If the copier has had a developer leak from the rear bushings then you may need to replace the feed stations.
The other thing to check is the registration sensor - may be dirty.Comment

The feed units are interchangeable. Swap tray three with tray one and see if the problem goes, If it does it's probable the cause is a oneway bearing slipping. I would change all of them in one go. The usual cause of this is dev leaking onto tray1 drive from the rear of the dev unit
If there is any dev there atall I would check the counter and see if the dev unit is due for replacement. In fact if there is any there and you know the history of the machine then I would change the dev unit cos it usually means the rear bearing is leaking and you'll be back in no time to do it all again.Comment

Forgot to mention the regi mylars. they cause strange jamming faults that look like timing(as yours does) but in reality the paper strikes the worn mylar as it comes from the duplexer and slows the paper enough for the regi sensor to call a jamComment

I'm getting the same kind of issues on a 2075, but the jam is always listed at the relay sensor. The box is puking developer through the back at close to 3,000,000 clicks. I've ordered all of the gears for the feed assemblies and I'm ordering a new dev unit as well.
Is there anything else anyone can think of? Sorry to kinda/sorta hijack the post with my own woes....Comment

I have tried changing bearings and gears but it always ends up with having to replace the whole feed station, expensive!
The dev unit or bushings is a must.Comment

Reg jamming
I have had this problem quite a few times now and i have tried the cheap option (Bearings, dev unit bushings) but it was never realiable so i just hit the lot.
Relpace feed units with dev contamination
replace dev unit
replace the mylar guides in the reg unit
and also completely strip the regestration unit apart clean ALL of the bushings, rollers, guides and shafts also lubricate the bushings when clean.
When the dev unit has started to leak it goes everywhere and in the regestration unit it causes so much friction in the bushes that you start to get intermittant jams when duplexing.
if it is alowed to get too bad the duplex will also be coverd and need to be
stripped and cleaned.
In my team it is part of the PM precidure to replace the dev unit bushes at 1 million copies and that saves all of these problems and expence.Comment

try to check the mylar guide back to the reg rollDIO-masterprintComment
