3235c - good with heavy stock?

I've been offered one of these machines and was just wondering what the general consensus is on them? I'm specifically looking for a copier that will handle heavy stocks quite well - is the Ricoh up to it?

    TIA

This is a good machine, but if heavy stock a big factor then stay away. My memory says it will only run up to 42-43 lb. paper.
the savin2535 is displaying well bet the hiter lamp is not shining and the lamp had been tested o.k.please kindly help.
Samir: No, not again. I... why does it say paper jam when there is no paper jam? I swear to God, one of these days, I just kick this piece of shit out the window.
Michael Bolton: You and me both, man. That thing is lucky I'm not armed.

Ok, thanks Cobi, looking for quite a bit more so something else it'll have to be.

According to the spec sheet the machine will take up 80lb text through the bypass.
Why do they call it common sense?

If it were common, wouldn't everyone have it?

Thanks faxman, that's interesting - I'm just wondering about the capacity for running beyond spec. I know it doesn't do the machine any good but, for example, the canon is only spec'd to take around 65lb but will do 90+. Could I expect the same from the Ricoh?

I had a 3235 in a Copy Shop and the customer time and again tried to ran the machine out of spec. (We use metric in South Africa and maximum paper weight is 160g) They used 200g for business cards. The copies then be full of thin lines caused by the little wheels just in front of the fuser entrance. I guess the paper is to stiff. The new MP2500 is a much better machine for thicker paper.

Sorry i ment the MPC2500 not MP2500. We have a Af3260 that we use to copy on 300g paper.

If you want heavy go offset printers.
They use ink and paper weight have no bearing.
Take a color copier beyond spec. ExSPECt arguments.
I can't tell you how many times I was told "The salesman said it would do it."
I refuse to take a machine out of SPEC adjustment just to make a customer happy.
Sorry I don't have a magic wand to make things work the way you want.
I tend to run into the problem of "Now regular paper double sheet feeds."

Buy the machine that supports the media, not make the machine support the media.

                    Hi Faxman,

I do run a couple of offset presses but for certain jobs running 2+ colours it's just not viable to run litho. The canon does these jobs and I'm happy to take the hit on drums etc, I just want to take it a step up, hence looking for something similar but better.
