    MPc5503 SC990-00

The machine shows this error in the AM, once restarted it works fine all day. The manual indicates to reinstall the software. Is this the firmware (all up to date) or is there some other software?
    Thanks

Reflash the firmware again, sometimes it didnt download properly. Which one are you doing package or Romdata.

If you are using the package firmware remember this doesn't update ALL the firmware files, only the main ones. The Official line from Ricoh is to use the module method if you are having issues.

You may also want to update the Java too.

With package, only those modules that are not current are replaced. Also, peripheral firmware is not included in the package. As copier tech said, use modules and select all of them.

Also make certain that there is not anything that requires PM.

Sounds like an energy saver / low power mode recovery issue.

So many problems identified and fixed via firmware these days.

            Code:
SC990 When machine is powered on.
Java VM install version 11.13.01 (or newer).

            Energy saver mode
A Java VM internal process changes the configured sleep timing.
Java VM install version 11.10.02 (or newer).

SC990 After the machine recovers from Energy Saver Mode
GW-FCU install version 09.00.00 (or newer).

            Energy saver mode, no recovery.
System/Copy firmware install version 1.11 (or newer).
PowerSaving Sys firmware install version F.18 (or newer).

On the newer machines with version 2 of smart panel package updates the smart panel OS so it's also just as important to do package first then module

Thanks for all the information. I was not aware that the package FW does not update ALL and I have to also update individual modules.
Now I have to remember all the machines that didn't get the modules updated.

It does "Update" main frame modules that are not current. It is not able to detect current modules that need to be redone.

Check sp7404 - it will show the file that is causing the code. It lists the last 10 entries.

SDK is JAVA. Try turning JAVA off in User Tools. If that clears the problem, update JAVA.
